Confirmation is the occasion for the public profession of faith in Christ, commitment to the lives of Christian discipleship, and acceptance of the responsibilities of church membership. In confirmation:

• God reaffirms the divine promise given at baptism members make a personal commitment to God before the congregation participants strengthen their faith and dedication to God.
• This is available for children who are presently in 6th grade or older.
• The confirmand is taking responsibility for living as a member of the body of Christ and for fulfilling God's purposes. By Water and the Spirit illuminates this further:

So, confirmation preparation aims at leading youth and others to embrace their vocation-the calling of God to live and witness the reign of God announced in Jesus Christ.
